Redskins Draft Bacarri Rambo With the 191st Pick in the Sixth Round

The Washington Redskins used the 191st pick in the 6th round to draft 6-0, 211 pound, University of Georgia safety Bacarri Rambo.

This is a high value pick as many had Rambo going in the earlier rounds. The Redskins have now filled their needs at safety with two very good players.

Possesses the combination of overall strength (befitting a last name mimicking the fictitious role played by Sylvester Stallone, jersey sales will probably be high for this kid with a name like that) and agility to fill multiple roles on defense. Consistently reads routes and the quarterback’s eyes well, flows with plays from the deep half and breaks on the ball quickly.

His strong hands can snatch 50/50 and jump ball passes away from receivers, and he is willing to throw his shoulder into receivers over the middle to separate the ball. Rambo is an effective cut tackler at the second level, he also changes directions quickly to wrap up running backs making a quick cut.

He shows good effort, uses upper body strength to ride receivers and backs with a full head of steam to the ground or sideline. Moves well with receivers downfield, can take away deep options and limit yards after the catch.
