Redskins Promote NT Robert Thomas From Practice Squad to Active Roster

The Washington Redskins announced today that they have signed nose tackle Robert Thomas to the team’s active roster from its practice squad.

Thomas (6-3, 325) originally signed with the Redskins as a college free agent on May 14, 2014. He was waived by the team on August 29, 2014, before signing to the team’s practice squad two days later.

The signing of Thomas to the active roster fills the last vacant spot on the teams 53-man roster. Up until this point the Redskins had only 52 after placing safety Duke Ihenacho and cornerback DeAngelo Hall on injured reserve on Monday.

Thomas appeared in 31 career games at Arkansas from 2011-13 after transferring from Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College. He made 72 career tackles (30 solo) as a Razorback and added six career sacks.
