Redskins cornerback Bashaud Breeland sprained his knee in practice on Friday and is being listed as questionable for Sunday’s game in Minnesota, Coach Jay Gruden said.
Asked of the severity of the injury Gruden first replied, “we’ve got to find out. He just did it at the tail end of practice. It doesn’t look like it’s serious but we have to make sure we take all the precautions necessary and hopefully he’ll be okay. We have Porter. We have Minnifield. We have other guys, but we want Breeland.”
When asked how the injury occurred, Gruden said,” he just got his foot twisted in the ground. It was really awkward. It was non-contract. It was just one of those things.”
During an ESPN 980 interview a little later, Gruden said that Breeland’s sprained knee “looks like it’ll be OK as long as it doesn’t swell overnight.”
