The Redskins had two key players knocked out of Sunday’s game.
Tight end Jordan Reed (hamstring) and nose tackle Barry Cofield (high ankle sprain) suffered injuries in which the severity wasn’t immediately clear.
Reed has had troubles with injury since the start of last season dealing with concussion issues which ultimately led to him being place on the injured reserve. Coach Jay Gruden said the injury is a “concern.”
Cofield’s injury is alarming if serious, the Redskins don’t have another guy on the roster who can play nose tackle since Chris Neild was lost for the season due to a knee injury in preseason. Cofield had a boot cast on after the game.
Chris Baker was down for a bit late in the game, but said afterward that he just got the wind knocked out of him but is fine.
Jason Hatcher said he was “sore” after suffering a minor ankle sprain but added that he doesn’t expect to miss any practice time.
More details about the severity of the injuries will be known early this week as Reed said he has a MRI set to check out his hamstring and Cofield will meet with doctors in the morning as well.
