Three Northern Virginia legislators announced the formation of the “Redskins Pride Caucus” on Monday.
The three lawmakers are Del. David Ramadan, R-Loudoun, site of the team’s headquarters; state Sen. Chap Petersen, D-Fairfax City; and Del. Jackson Miller, R-Manassas.
The lawmakers say the group’s founding principles are:
“Wherever I go, it has been a constant topic that comes up. People ask me, ‘What can be done?’ This is our team, and as representatives of the people of Virginia, we are standing up for our citizens’, said David Ramadan.
We here at HTTR4LIFE.com are hoping the new “Redskins Pride Caucus” will aid in furthering the voices of Native Americans who support the name. Currently these people are being ignored by the media and told that because they oppose the name change, or are not famous then their opinions don’t matter. So says Dan Steinberg of the “DC Sports Bog”, not surprisingly with the Washington Post.
@HTTR4LIFE i’ve chosen to spotlight leaders (the tribe that paid for the nba ad, the code talkers, the local chiefs who support the name)
