Duke Ihenacho has Fractured Heel Bone, Placed on IR
The injuries keep piling up for the Washington Redskins. The team learned on Monday that backup safety Duke Ihenacho will be lost for the rest of the season while he recovers from a fractured heel bone. Ihenacho was placed on the season ending injured reserved list on Monday.
This is horrible news considering the Redskins will be placing DeAngelo Hall on the injured reserve at any moment as he gets ready for Achilles surgery.
Ihenacho was signed after being waived by Denver during their final roster cuts. Many had hoped he could step up and produce while learning the system this year. As it stands, he played in 8 snaps over 3 games and came into Sunday’s game against the Eagles on special teams before suffering the foot injury.
More bad news for #Redskins : S Duke Ihenacho has a fractured heel bone and will be out several weeks at least, @ESPNRadio980 has learned.

There is no time-table as of yet for Ihenacho’s return.
The Redskins will turn to Trenton Robinson to fill any of Ihenacho’s snaps.
In other news Chase Minnifield was pulled up from the practice squad and the Redskins still have one empty spot to fill on their 53-man roster after placing Ihenacho and DeAngelo Hall on IR. The contract of Daryl Sharpton was also terminated, Sharpton had been on the season ending injured list.
