The Washington Redskins opened the 2015 season with a loss at home to the Miami Dolphins. The team suffered a couple of key injuries in the process.
Redskins Head Coach Jay Gruden opened his post-game presser with the following statement:
“Injuries, [WR] DeSean Jackson – hamstring, he’s going to have a MRI, not sure how long he’ll be out. [S] Duke [Ihenacho] had a wrist fracture, dislocation, he’ll get a MRI. [CB] Justin Rogers, plantar faciitis, he’ll probably be a couple days. [CB] DeAngelo Hall had a rib contusion, he came back. [T] Morgan [Moses] hurt his eye, he came back.”
DeSean Jackson’s injury changed Sunday’s game’s whole landscape, taking away the deep threat for Washington. The team went in an ultra-conservative direction, as far as the play-calling is concerned, after Jackson went down. More should be known about Jackson early this week after the results of his MRI are released.
