The Washington Redskins started the process this week of signing their draft picks. The team also began signing UDFAs to fill in their 90-man roster as well. To make the moves official the Redskins had to release OT Xavier Nixon, who the team claimed off waivers back in February after he was released by the Indianapolis Colts.
Many times these UDFAs signings end up being the life-blood of a teams practice squad. Nixon for example was a undrafted free agent that the Redskins signed and used on the squad before he was claimed by the Colts last year.
Below is the list of UDFAs the Redskins added this week:
WR Reggie Bell (6-0, 200 lbs), San Diego – 171 receptions for 2,725 yards and 24 touchdowns.
WR Tony Jones (6-0, 195 lbs), Northwestern – 130 receptions for 1,445 yards and 10 touchdowns.
WR Tyler Rutenbeck (6-3, 195 lbs), Dubuque – 163 receptions for 2,715 yards and 42 touchdowns.
TE Devin Mahina (6-6, 251 lbs), BYU – 46 receptions for 554 yards and 5 touchdowns.
RB Trey Williams (5-8, 195 lbs), Texas A&M – Rushed the ball 204 times for 1,343 yards and 18 touchdowns while catching 38 passes for 337 yards and a touchdown.
QB Connor Halliday (6-4, 201 lbs), Washington State – Completed 1,014 of 1,634 passes for 11,308 yards, 90 touchdowns and 50 interceptions.
