Washington Redskins RB Matt Jones on Trading Block
According to reports, Redskins RB Matt Jones is on the trading block as the team looks to deal the 24-year-old.
The #Redskins are shopping RB Matt Jones, sources say. Former third-rounder has flashed, but Skins likely add another RB this weekend.

Just one year ago Jones was poised to become the Redskins full-time runningback, and perennial star. After another season marred with fumbling issues, five fumbles (three lost) in seven games, the once bright future n Washington for the 6-2, 235 pound back has faded. In Jones’ rookie season across 13 games he rushed for 490 yards and three touchdowns while catching 19 passes for 319 yards. Last year he gained 460 yards rushing through seven games, but became a liability after fumbling on the goal-line against Detroit last year.
Washington will likely be adding a late-round back this weekend and is probably looking to use Jones as trade-bait for a possible move-up at some point.
It will be interesting to see if Jones gets dealt, gets cut or ends up in training camp this summer. It would appear the team is ready to cut ties with him now seeing as they have little-to-no confidence in him.
