According to the team, the Washington Redskins signed former Colts linebacker Chris Carter Thursday. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Carter, 27, was a fifth-round pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2011 NFL Draft and is now with his fifth team. He appeared in 62 regular season games with the Steelers, Colts, Bengals, and Ravens, mainly in a backup role, starting four games in that time, none since 2013.
At 6-1, 245 pounds, he can play both inside and outside linebacker, but he was signed by the Redskins to contribute to their special teams.
