The Washington Redskins signed seven players, including fan favorite RB Mack Brown to the teams practice squad on Sunday, a day after cutting 22 from the active roster.
The team is allowed to sign up to 10 players to the squad. The list of players they’ve already signed is below:
This year the Redskins didn’t win any waiver claims made on players released, and had NONE put on players they released. Which means no team was interested in putting any claims on the cuts the team made.
Practice squad players are not part of the active roster, and will not play on the team unless first being signed to the active roster. Opposing teams can put claims on other teams practice squads, and in effect “steal” certain players if said team doesn’t elevate the player to the active roster. In other words, any of these practice squad players the Redskins signed today could be signed to any opposing teams ACTIVE roster at any time….but the Redskins would first have the option to sign that player to their active roster first.
