The move gives the Redskins a veteran player who can add on the field and locker-room leadership, which the Redskins will likely be in big need of following the retirement of London Fletcher. It also gives the Redskins two starters now at the safety position with Clark at free safety, and Brandon Meriweather at strong.
The move came just a small time before the Redskins were/are expecting another free agent to visit town…former Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson. Jackson was/is expected in town around 7:00 pm and is expected to stay into Tuesday. Details on the contract of Ryan Clark were not immediately available, but it’s rumored to be a one-year,vet minimum deal.
