The Washington Football Team opened its 2021 Training Camp Tuesday in Richmond, Virginia. It didn’t take long before they had to make their first roster moves.
According to the NFL wire, the team brought in defensive ends Bunmi Rotimi and Anree Saint-Amour for a workout. The team ended up signing Rotimi, who played his college ball at Old Dominion and was most recently on Chicago’s roster.
Rotimi, 26, also played for the New York Guardians in the XFL, where he had 25 tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble in just five games.
The team made a flurry of moves Tuesday afternoon, including placing tackle Cornelius Lucas on the reserve/COVID-19 list, receiver Curtis Samuel and corner Greg Stroman on the active but physically unable to perform list. The team placed defensive lineman Devaroe Lawrence on the active/non-football injury list, safety Deshazor Everett, and defensive tackle Tim Settle on the active/non-football illness list.
Washington also waived tight end Deon Yelder and defensive end Jalen Jelks (injury designation) and placed tight end Tyrone Swoops and guard Najee Toran on the reserve/did not report list.
