The Washington Redskins didn’t have the season many thought they would in 2017 as the franchise struggled through several key injuries combined with lackluster play, and finished 7-9.
Along the way, the team gave us several reasons to be both angry and hopeful. The defense looked promising in coordinator Greg Manusky’s (former Redskins linebacker) first season as top coach before several key injuries changed the look and feel of the system. Hopefully, 2018 will bring better luck in that area…as most know injuries are part of the game and a team must do everything they can to be ready when the injuries occur.
As the franchise starts to move forward with plans for the 2018 roster, let’s take a look at the opponents Washington will face in the coming season.
The Washington Redskins 2018 opponents list is based on their third-place finish in the NFC East following the 2017 NFL season. On top of having to play their division opponents; the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, and the New York Giants twice. The Redskins will also have to play all four teams from the NFC South and AFC South. Because they finished in third place, Washington will also have to face the NFC North’s 2017 third-place (the Green Bay Packers) and the NFC West’s 2017 third-place team (the Arizona Cardinals).
In other news outside linebacker Ryan Kerrigan has been enjoying his time at this year’s Pro Bowl (as you can see below). The Redskins superstar has been competing in several skills competitions and will see ample playing time in this weekend’s game.
