Lorenzo Alexander Signs With the Cardinals
Ending days of speculation, linebacker Lorenzo Alexander has a new city to call his home.
According to a report by Alex Marvez of FOXSports.com, the free agent special teams ace and linebacker, as expected, signed with the Arizona Cardinals on Wednesday, officially ending his six-season tenure in Washington.
Alexander had what was easily his best year last year with Washington. He led the NFL with 21 tackles on special teams and earned his first Pro Bowl appearance thanks to that stellar effort. The 29-year-old linebacker also saw an increased role on defense (due to injury), making 47 tackles and 2.5 sacks, both career highs.
It’s official, I’m an Arizona Cardinal! I appreciate all the love an Support I received in DC.

The Redskins tried to keep Alexander, but in the end just couldn’t compete with other teams when it came to money (Niners, Cardinals, and Steelers were interested).
The salary cap penalties continue to hurt Washington’s chances of landing any free agents this year.
