What to Expect:
The Washington Redskins will be looking to end a three game losing steak this weekend when they travel to Arizona to take on the Cardinals. Both teams have their issues with injuries.
From an offensive stand point the Redskins will need to find consistency on third downs and will have to find a way to establish the running game. Against the Seahawks Alfred Morris was non-existent, if the Redskins cannot find a way to open up lanes to get him going it could be a long day.
The Cardinals are dinged up a bit, but they still have a stout defense and will look to give Washington problems.
The passing game faces a tough task this weekend with Patrick Peterson lining up on the other side of the ball, Peterson will likely be lined up against DeSean Jackson.
If the Redskins want to look at one thing that needs to be worked on it is definitely creating turnovers. Good teams create turnovers, great teams create turnovers and don’t turn the ball over…notice the trend here?
On the defensive side of things it would appear that rookie qb Logan Thomas will be making his debut as a starter in the NFL this weekend for Arizona. Even though Thomas has a cannon arm, he was inconsistent passing the ball in college but has the ability to get mobile and take an extreme amount of punishment in the process without getting hurt. The Redskins will likely look to put an extreme amount of pressure on the rookie in hopes of getting him to commit some mistakes.
The Redskins have been good this season at stopping the rush and they will have to show up in this game as well.
This will be former Cardinals, now Redskins player Andre Roberts return trip back to Arizona…look for him to play a factor. Jordan Reed will also be seeing his first action since week 1.
