Redskins Claim Offensive Tackle Xavier Nixon off Waivers
According to the NFL’s daily transaction report the Washington Redskins have claimed offensive tackle Xavier Nixon off of waivers.
Nixon, a 6-6, 330-pound offensive tackle, spent the last two seasons with the Indianapolis Colts, he played in a total of eight games while starting two.
The Redskins signed Nixon following the 2013 NFL Draft as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Florida. He spent the offseason and preseason with the Redskins but didn’t last through the final cuts leading up to the season. Nixon was temporarily re-signed to Washington’s practice squad, but Indianapolis signed him to its 53-man roster shortly after.
