Report: Colt McCoy to Start Against Cowboys on MNF
According to a report from NFL Network’s Albert Breer, Colt McCoy will be the starting quarterback for the Washington Redskins when they play the Dallas Cowboys tonight on Monday Night Football.
Not that it’s any surprise, but Redskins QB Robert Griffin III won’t play tonight. As expected, Colt McCoy starts for Washington in Dallas.

As Breer points out in his tweet, the news doesn’t come as a major surprise as most have thought Griffin’s return was a few weeks off.
Redskins head coach Jay Gruden was coy in recent days when asked if Griffin would play saying, “I have until 7:30 Monday night to make that decision.”
By holding Griffin out of this weeks game the team will be giving the third-year qb an extra week to get healthy. The Redskins will likely be in this same position next week, trying to decide on if the quarterback will play against the Vikings or against the Bucs after the bye week.
