Redskins Free Agency: Rumors and Reports From the Day Before

Here is a list of reports/stories pertaining to the rumors/reports that came out today about Redskins free agency.

Redskins eye wide receivers Kenny Britt and Andrew Hawkins
Britt is a five-year veteran, who has spent all of his career with the Tennessee Titans. The 6-foot-3, 223-pounder recorded 700-yard seasons in each of his first two years in the league before battling injury and off-field issues over the course of the next three seasons. Last season, he had just 11 catches for 96 yards while appearing in 12 games. Hawkins is a restricted free agent, who played for Jay Gruden in Cincinnati. The 5-7, 180-pound slot receiver is entering his fifth season in the NFL. He too battled injury last season but recorded 12 catches for 199 yards in eight games. Hawkins had his best season in 2012, when he recorded 51 receptions for 533 yards and four touchdowns.

Report: Redskins ‘leading contender’ for Sproles | Comcast SportsNet Washington
The former Saints back who was released over the weekend in a salary cap move would be a good fit for the Redskins, giving Robert Griffin III a target who is a threat to take it the distance whenever he touches the ball. And Mike Freeman of the Bleacher Report says that he could land in D. C. “Washington right now seems to be the leading contender” to sign Sproles Freeman said.

Redskins express interest in Jairus Byrd, Corey Graham and Captain Munnerlyn

Redskins interested in Byrd but asking price may be prohibitive | Rich Tandler’s Real Redskins
ESPN.com is reporting that Byrd is seeking an average annual salary of $9 million. That would make him the second-highest paid safety in the game, just behind Eric Berry of the Chiefs. It was widely expected that he would try to become one of the top-paid safeties in the game so this report confirms that. Among the teams said to be interested in Byrd are the Dolphins and Rams and, according to the Washington Post, the Redskins.
