Morgan Moses Placed on IR With Lisfranc Injury
Washington Redskins rookie tackle Morgan Moses was placed on the season-ending IR list (injured reserve) on Thursday and will need surgery.
Moses has been diagnosed by doctors with the dreaded “Lisfranc Injury”. For those that remember, it’s also the same injury that kept safety Phillip Thomas off the field during his rookie season in 2013.
Lisfranc (midfoot) injuries result if bones in the midfoot are broken or ligaments that support the midfoot are torn. The severity of the injury can vary from simple to complex, involving many joints and bones in the midfoot.
When asked about the injury Jay Gruden said, “It was just a fluke thing. He was just pass setting in one on ones and he said he thought he felt his shoe come off his foot and, you know, he tore it.”
Gruden said Moses’ injury occurred during practice yesterday “He’s still got a bright future.” Moving forward they want to get him on 1 side

To fill the vacancy on the 53-man roster created by placing Moses on IR the Redskins promoted runningback Chris Thompson to the active roster and signed tackle Edawn Coughman to the practice squad.
