Redskins Sign Corner Greg Ducre to Roster; Linebacker Steve Beauharnais to Practice Squad
The Washington Redskins made several roster moves official on Wednesday. As reported yesterday, the Redskins waived cornerback Richard Crawford and safety Akeem Davis and promoted outside linebacker Jackson Jeffcoat to the active roster. The team also released 2014 7th round pick tight end Ted Bolser.
Those moves left one active roster spot open and two practice squad spots as well.
Today the Redskins signed cornerback Greg Ducre (“doo-CRAY”) to the active roster, and added inside linebacker Steve Beauharnais to the practice squad.
Ducre (5-10, 183 lbs) was an undrafted corner out of the University of Washington where he played 51 career games, totaling 106 tackles, 19 passes defensed, four interceptions, 5.5 tackles for loss, one sack and two forced fumbles. He was signed by the San Diego Chargers on May 16th and was on their practice squad until the Redskins formally claimed him today.
Beauharnais (6-2, 230 lbs) was drafted in the seventh round out of Rutgers by the New England Patriots in 2013.
The Redskins still have one open spot on their practice squad to fill.
