Players who won’t be playing Thursday:
Pierre Garcon – Injured his hamstring last week and aggravated it again this week. He sat out of both Tuesday and Wednesday’s practices.
Ryan Clark – sore hamstring
Phillip Thomas – sore hamstring
DeSean Jackson -May not play/unknown with a twisted ankle; The injury happened on a pass play during a light 11-on-11 session against the Patriots. Jackson came up lame in the middle of his route, and limped quickly off the field. Redskins head coach Jay Gruden said afterward that Jackson was cleated on the play.
Thoughts:
The Washington Redskins and the New England Patriots have been going at it this week in joint practice sessions. The two teams will end the weak of activities on Thursday night as they meet in their first game of the 2014 NFL preseason. It will be Robert Griffin III’s first chance to step on the field under new head coach Jay Gruden and he might get a chance to share the field for the first time with DeSean Jackson depending on Jackson’s game-time status. The starters will likely only see a couple of possessions in this first contest of the preseason.
